Is it possible to take any bowl that is big enough and make one of these "autonomous" bowls?
We envision remodeling of the lower few bathroom and one option is for my husband to build the vanity. I was wondering if you could take a good size bowl, drill a hole middle, and use it as the sink? Thank you for your help!
You will need a way to mount the wall, or a base for standing on, remember not the drain should exit with a P-trap to catch the rings and prevent sewer gases from entering the house. You can ride on what you want to use as well. When you buy a "sink drain install kit" of hardware, there will be the pipe, and an inner ring giant and washer that goes underneath, and an upper flanged end of the tube, the puck is going down the drain. Do not make the hole any more the diameter of the pipe, and when you tighten things, you do not want the puck in the bottom of the sink to distort beyond the edges of the flange, so as not too tight. I suggest hand tight at first. Note that for complete drainage and easy cleaning, many wells are slightly countersunk head flight, so that after mounting flange and the washer drain is flush with the sides of the sink, no peak or falling, which can elapse. If the equipment you use is too thin to cut a sink-cons, I suppose you could smooth it with epoxy glue, make sure just try to keep it out of the flange and washer as best you can, you want to be able to remove theses as necessary for repairs or replacement. k
